The History of Sanibel Wellness:
The business that would eventually become Sanibel Wellness was started in 1991 when Murari Brian Healy, LMT, CKYT moved to Sanibel from Lenox, Masssachusettes where he had been living and working at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. He began offering yoga classes under the name Paradise Yoga on the beach and at the Tower Art Gallery (which at that time was behind Ikki Matsumoto's Gallery on Tarpon Bay Rd... the restaurant Redfish Blufish occupies that space now). In the following years Brian continued his studies of holistic health, returning often to Kripalu and also working at the Wellness Center at the Omega Insitute in Rhinebeck, NY during the summers. He also attended the Sarasota School of Massage Therapy and the Swedish Institute in New york and become licensed in massage therapy in both Florida and New York. In 1997 he opened The Wellness Center of Sanibel. Over the years his skills and knowledge continued to grow and many excellent practitioners joined the staff of Sanibel Wellness. We now have a beautiful office on Palm Ridge Road with several treatment rooms and we continue to offer yoga classes around the community.
