Murari's Tantra Hatha Yoga Classes
"Your body is a doorway into bliss."
Murari's classes in Tantra Hatha Yoga blend conscious movement, breath, music, and meditation into a flowing, sensual experience of healing energy. The Tantric Path consists of removing the obstacles to your seeing all of creation as divine... as an infinite dance of energy (Shakti) and consciousness (Shiva). In this state we joyfully witness the interplay of female and male principles coming together to form body, mind, emotion, and awareness in blissful unity.

My Early Training in Yoga & Meditation
by Murari Brian Healy
I began my education in yoga at age 23 on Long Island, taking classes from a girlfriend at a beautiful studio on the North Shore. It was shortly after my dad died and I was seeking something. I didn't know what, but the way I felt during relaxation in Shaina's yoga class gave me a little hint. That led me to find a yoga group (in the Yellow Pages, by the way) in Old Westbury, near where I grew up, called Ananda Marga, the Path of Bliss . I came to discover this wonderful group of people had a yoga practice rooted in the teachings of Krishnamurti and the Yoga Sutras (although I didn't know that back then). The outer expression of these practices was mainly through karma yoga (selfless service), bhakti yoga (chanting the name of God), vegetarianism, fasting, reading scripture, and doing lots of seated, silent group meditation. There was very little moving, stretching and breathing (which I now know as hatha yoga), only enough to help us sit longer.
[What, no crazy stretches? How could THIS be yoga? It certainly wasn't what Shaina had taught me. :)]
The elder and renunciate members of Ananda Marga spent most of their time caring for others or planning the care of others, not bending and twisting. And the householder members spent alot of time with their families ... their kids were so smart, so centered! And they didn't have a TV or VCR!
[How did they watch their yoga videos???]
This re-introduction into the deeper meaning of the ancient art and science of yoga was life altering and I choose to take initiation into the practice. A marvelous man by the name of Dada Sujit Kumar, who was an elder in the order was visiting the US from India, performed the sacred ritual and gave me the sanskrit name Visheshwara, which I was told meant Ruler of the Universe. [Not bad for a beginner huh?]
